23-02-1966 : A little boy by the name of Tony Verelst was born in Herentals, Belgium. He was the youngest of a family of 4 and was gladly welcomed by his 2 brothers and sisters.

1969 : Tony still doesn't walk, so his parents take him to a specialist in order to find out what is wrong. The diagnosis was made : a severe muscular disease. Tony will probably live no longer than up to 15 years.

September 1972 : Tony goes to a special school for disabled people.

October 1972 : Tony turns out to be too smart for a special school since they put him with the mentally disabled. Tony still has some weird periods as a result of that :-) He is
registered in mainstream education.

1975 : Tony's father dies age 55. Tony and his mother are left on their own. Difficult times lie ahead.

1977 : Tony falls in love for the first time and writes his first poem and song in Dutch. Many other loves, poems and songs will follow.

September 1978 : Tony is forced to go to a special school for disabled people due to the
'inaccessibility' of normal schools. With previous experiences in mind, Tony himself decides which school to go to, and finds a special school with classes on a normal level.

October 1978 : Tony is faced with his disability by being locked up amongst other disabled people. He hides away in poetry and music.

1981 : Tony starts writing English poetry and lyrics. Specialist reformulate their initial
diagnosis. Tony will live no longer than 25.

July 1982 : Tony and his friends start up the illegal radio station Satire. They become the envy of other more professional radio stations in town, and will entertain the neigbourhood 3 summer holidays in a row.

1983 : Tony and his friend form the musical band Ozon & Co. They will compose 3 songs together. Tony makes his first song demo.

August 1985 : Radio Satire decides to permanently sign off. Tony and his friends found
mobile disco show Powerdrive and travel the country entertaining people and forcing them to dance.

October 1985 : Tony enrolls himself at the University of Louvain to study Germanic languages. He will never get the degree :-(

September 1987 : Tony quits studying and leaves home to follow an independency training.

January 1989 : Tony moves  to his own place in Berchem, Antwerp, where he lives independently with 24 hour backup assistance.

September 1989 : Tony buys his first adapted car and makes deals with his friends to drive him around.

1991 : Tony gets in touch with Independent Living Movement, and learns how to work with personal assistance. From now on he will no longer bother his friends for his transport needs.

1991 : Tony starts a 2 year distance computer course. He will discover his new love : the PC. At February 23 he throws a gigantic birthday party and fires all his doctors and
specialists.

April 1993 : Tony is offered a job as teleworker at the computer training centre and starts his professional career.

1994 : Tony meets his friend Jan. Both will have a lot of fun and achieve great projects.

1995 : Tony and Jan are asked to organise holidays for disabled people to Czech Republic. Tony meets his Czech ladyfriends and the name Magicky is born as a result.

1997 : Tony moves to his new home in Hasselt and discovers the internet. Many online friends (some of whom he met in person) will brighten his days and turn him into a chat
addict.

March 1998 : Tony is asked to take part in the ISdAC project. Now he will surf the internet professionally as well.

May 1998 : Tony meets his special internet girlfriend Nadine. Many online talks will follow.

September 1998 : Tony and Nadine meet in person and have been regularly ever since. Tony is elected chairman of ISdAC at the Madrid meeting.

December 1998 : Tony visits his chatfriend Alison in England.

May 1999 : Tony decides to share his life with his internet friends and makes his website
public.
